Orou Sapulut @ Nabawan
Orou Sapulut is a community project aiming at improving the lives of people in the interior through tourism while also safeguarding the environment and preserving Murut culture in a responsible manner. Founded by Mr Richard Gunting, he is the leader of the longhouse in Romol Village. People from Sapulut’s many faraway towns contributed their time and skills to help with this project as boatmen, drivers, guides, hosts, cooks, and other roles.
It is located in the heart of Borneo, close to the neighbouring region of Kalimantan. Orou Sapulut and is approximately 68 kilometres from the Tenom district, passing through jungle and scenic boat journey.
The length of a normal Orou Sapulut tour can range from two days and one night to four days and three nights. People who visit this region will be able to see hidden waterfalls and Pungiton caves. If you want to get to a higher point, the Batu Punggul climb is something that can only be done and unique to this area.

Getting to this remote area requires pre-arranged vehicle transfer from the Keningau district onwards. However, travellers have the option to take the public coach bus to Keningau district by their own or have these transfer included in their package.
